BACTERIUM SCREENING AT FANGO WEEKEND OF HORRORS

POP Cinema and Shock-O-Rama Cinema return to Burbank for Fangoria Magazine’s West Coast "Weekend of Horrors," this time with its newest horror film in tow, Bacterium. The 3-day event runs Friday, May 18 through Sunday, May 21, at the Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel, in Burbank, CA.

The Weekend of Horrors continues its long and storied tradition with an exciting 2007 convention that features notable horror guests Neil Marshall, Eli Roth, Don Coscarelli, Paul Naschy, Henry Rollins and many more as well as previews of upcoming films including Diary of the Dead, Rob Zombie’s Halloween, Wrong Turn 2, and Uwe Boll’s latest films. Shock-O-Rama looks to add its quotient of excitement to the show and stoke fans’ anticipation with an advance screening – its premier – of Bacterium; horror and fx veteran Brett Piper’s newest gross-out film and his fourth for the Shock-O-Rama label. In Bacterium, a biological weapons experiment gone catastrophically wrong produces a virulent, flesh-hungry contagion that renders each human host into a pile of infectious ooze as it quickly multiplies and increases in size. Over the past four years, each of Piper’s films for Shock-O-Rama has been privileged to screen at a Weekend of Horror – Screaming Dead, Bite Me! and Shock-O-Rama – thus it is with great satisfaction that Bacterium, too, is introduced to the horror public at this top horror convention.

Fans will be able purchase the newest Shock-O-Rama films Chainsaw Sally and Skin Crawl as well as past releases.

APRIL CHILLER THEATRE CON

The beloved and long-running Chiller Theatre Toy, Model & Film Expo, one of the premier fan conventions of its kind on the East Coast, is once again right around the corner, and this April it has set up shop at a new location: the April 13 – 15th show takes place at the Parsippany Hilton, in Parsippany, NJ.

POP Cinema and its Shock-O-Rama label will be on hand throughout the three-day event to offer its DVDs and promote its newest horror films, Chainsaw Sally and Skin Crawl. Chainsaw Sally (released on February 27) is the gruesome tale of an outwardly meek, inwardly psychotic young woman driven to bloody revenge and chainsaw-wielding extremes and it features horror film legends Herschell Gordon Lewis and Gunnar “Leatherface” Hansen. Chainsaw Sally director Jimmy O, star April Monique Burril, and co-star Alec Joseph return as Chiller guests and will be appearing in the celebrity area to sell and autograph Chainsaw Sally DVDs and 8x10s throughout the weekend.

In Skin Crawl, a cold-blooded murder unleashes a three hundred-year-old curse lying dormant for generations and raises up a slithering monstrosity from the grave to seek bloody vengeance. The just-released fright film (April 10) stars Julian Wells (Shock-O-Rama), Kevin G. Shinnick, and veteran horror fave and Fangoria Radio host Debbie Rochon. Writer/director Justin Wingenfeld will be on hand at the POP Cinema table all weekend to promote his film and autograph DVDs.
