LORD OF THE G-STRINGS ON THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JAY LENO?

LORD OF THE G-STRINGS

Reliable sources report that Seduction Cinema's hit 2004 spoof, Lord of the G-Strings: The Femaleship of the String, starring Misty Mundae, Darian Caine, and A.J. Khan and currently airing on the Cinemax and Showtime channels, will make an appearance on the March 8 "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno as part of its "Pitch to America" segment.

It seems the "Pitch to America" producers were at the NATPE trade show (National Association of Television Program Executives) held recently at the Mandalay Bay Resort, in Las Vegas. Happening upon the booth of ei Cinema's foreign sales agent, Vision Films, the producers noticed the Lord of the G-Strings poster prominently displayed within, and knowing a good thing when they see it, they asked Vision Films to, well, basically "pitch" the film to America. And pitch Vision Films did…apparently so well and in such a funny manner that the piece is, according to the producers, 99% sure of airing on the Tuesday, March 8 show - possibly supported by clips from the film, too.

While 99% sounds all but definitive, nothing is ever guaranteed. So while Seduction Cinema is thrilled at the prospect of Lord of the G-Strings' introduction to "The Tonight Show" viewer-ship, it can only tentatively urge its fans to catch the NBC show with the hopes that it will indeed air.

03-05-2005 - POPcinema ATTENDS 2005 VENTURA SUMMIT

POPcinema was a recent participant in the 2005 (and 4th Annual) Ventura Summit, held February 16 - 18, at the 5-star Bacara Resort & Spa, in Santa Barbara, CA. Each year the Summit brings together top indie labels (Showtime Home Video, Urban Works, Tokyo Pop, ei Cinema, MPI, to name a few) and the buyers from major retailers & e-tailers nationwide including Blockbuster, Best Buy, Musicland, and Netflix. The purpose of the event, thanks to host Ventura Distribution? To open up, nurture, and maintain the direct lines of communication and free flow of ideas between supplier (home video label), distributor (Ventura), and customer (retailer) for the purpose of doing better business together in the ever-changing landscape of the home entertainment marketplace. One-on-one, round-table discussions between labels and buyers, panel presentations, and marketing and technology symposia filled the morning and afternoon sessions; cocktails, dinner, screenings (Showtime premiered the first episode of its new series, "Fat Actress," starring Kirstie Ally), and a Las Vegas-styled poker event made the evenings a special treat.

ei hasn't missed a Summit, and the studio was thrilled to be part of the most productive one yet. On Thursday, it had the opportunity to screen a 4 minute Shock-O-Rama Cinema "A Year of Shocks" promotional reel highlighting the success of the Shock-O-Rama horror label - a label that was officially launched just one short year ago at the 2004 Summit. The captive audience of fellow labels, retailers, and Ventura personnel enjoyed the entertaining, lighthearted, yet informative piece that included clips from 2004 and upcoming 2005 Shock-O releases, footage from an impressive array of promotional events the label attended in 2004, and a detailed breakdown of the strong and creative marketing support and advertising muscle ei puts behind the Shock-O-Rama label and each of its releases.

ei also had the chance to premiere its Retro-Seduction Cinema "Retro-Restoration" promotional reel - a 4 minute piece that details the extensive, passionate, and painstaking lengths to which the retro erotica label goes to bring classic erotica features as well as long-forgotten, long-lost, or previously neglected sexploitation films to fans and aficionados worldwide. From film elements recovery and restoration, to producing brand new interviews with and mini-documentaries on legendary erotica producers, artists, actors, and moviemakers and their films, to 16x9 hi-definition mastering, the "Retro-Restoration" promo, featuring ei Cinema President Michael Raso, tells the Retro-Seduction Cinema raison d'etre in entertaining and informative fashion.

Of special note is the longevity of the warm, long-standing, and successful exclusive relationship that has existed between ei Cinema and Ventura Distribution: they are celebrating their ninth year together - an impressive feat considering the mercurial, often cut-throat nature of the home entertainment industry. Over the years, Ventura has grown to become the leading distributor of independent product in the U.S., rivaling and often out-performing the major studios in market share in certain genres, and ei takes pride that its releases on the Seduction Cinema, Shock-O-Rama Cinema, and Retro-Seduction Cinema labels have certainly done their part in making that happen.

This year's Summit retail attendees included Amazon.com, Best Buy, Blockbuster Entertainment, Borders Books & Music, Fred Meyer, Musicland Group (Suncoast Motion Picture, Sam Goody, Media Play), Netflix, Newbury Comics, Tower Video, TransWorld Entertainment (f.y.e., Coconuts, Strawberries, Saturday Matinee), Virgin, and military distributor EURPAC.

02-22-2005 - F.Y.E. STORES CONTINUE THEIR SUPPORT OF VHS

VHS at retail is alive and well across the USA, thanks to the commitment and foresight of 900-store-strong, Albany, NY-based TransWorld Entertainment - a leader among U.S. home entertainment retailers. 650 of their premier, customer-centric flagship store, f.y.e. ("for your entertainment"), populate malls nationwide; free-standing retail outlets Saturday Matinee (East Coast), Coconuts Music & Movies (NY area and across the Mid-west), Strawberries Music (New England), Wherehouse Music (West Coast), and Specs Music & Movies (Florida) round out the powerhouse line-up that offers a breadth and diversity of product and unique shopping experiences.

Most if not all of Seduction Cinema and Shock-O-Rama Cinema's past VHS output and all of the labels' new release VHS proudly sit upon the shelves of f.y.e. stores (as does DVD, too, of course!), and ei is both proud and happy to support their dedication to "nice pricing" that quickly moves product off the racks and into the VHS aficionado's or DVD player holdout's collection. Steve Paniccia, veteran VHS & DVD Rental Buyer for f.y.e., observes, "Our stores are among the few places that you can still find a decent selection of VHS. Granted, the market has shifted considerably towards DVD, but we are still seeing a demand for VHS at the right price…and it seems that we've consolidated much of the remaining VHS customers into our stores. We've worked with multiple studios to keep VHS alive in our stores including ei Cinema. Our current plan is to continue carrying VHS into the foreseeable future as the market demands."

Seemingly against all odds and the predictions of market indicators and experts, f.y.e. maintains a healthy VHS business in the face of the continued relentless infiltration and sheer numbers of DVD titles released into the home entertainment marketplace. ei will stick by their side as they fight the good fight to keep the VHS format within consumers' easy reach.

02-15-2005 - MISTY MUNDAE MONDAY NIGHT SCREENINGS

Higher education at Clarion University of Pennsylvania is getting a run for its money thanks to the "Misty Mundae Monday Night Movie Crew" screenings. Clarion U. is located in Clarion, PA, at the western edge of the state, between Pittsburgh and Erie.

The "Movie Crew" is an enthusiastic group of college students who are ravenous fans of Seduction Cinema and Shock-O-Rama Cinema films, and they sponsor a weekly movie screening in their apartment every Monday - hopefully after studies. As the Crew likes to put it, "The Misty Mundae Monday Night Movies have taken a bleak and dreary day and transformed it into an event." They've even formed a production company, inspired by ei Cinema, called AJ & Beeker Productions.

members of the crack Movie Crew team include:
(back row, left to right) Buss, Anime, Wolfe, Beeker, Jayson, Jon, Daniell
(front row, left to right) Alayne, Little, Katdaad, Rissy, Ken, Donnie

The Movie Crew hopes to take its Misty Mundae Monday Night Movie Madness out of the apartment and onto the campus proper this year. Where else but at a liberal arts college. Good luck to them and keep up the grade point average.

SEDUCTION CINEMA DIRECTOR TONY MARSIGLIA INTERVIEW

Check out the first published on-line interview with prolific, enigmatic and enormously talented Seduction Cinema and Shock-O-Rama Cinema writer/director Tony Marsiglia on the Secret Scroll Digest website.

Always one to shun attention, the soft- yet well-spoken Marsiglia talks about some early, difficult childhood memories, his past and continuing work and close relationship with POPcinema (released films Witches of Sappho Salon, Dr. Jekyll and Mistress Hyde, Sin Sisters, Lust for Dracula; upcoming films Chantal and Sinful), the travails and triumphs of low-budget moviemaking, and his joy in working with actress Misty Mundae, who has starred in all of his films except Witches.

02-07-2005 -
SEDUCTION CINEMA TO RELEASE WYNORSKI PRODUCED FILMS

Seduction Cinema is extremely pleased to announce that it has licensed the rights to four exciting and scintillating erotica films by director H.R. Blueberry (Busty Cops): Lust Connection, The Breastford Wives, House on Hooter Hill, and The Witches of Breastwicke. All of them star the sultry Glori-Ann Gilbert (Shock-O-Rama Cinema's go-go dancing vampires hit, Vamps 2: Blood Sisters) and were produced by popular and prolific veteran 'B' moviemaker Jim Wynorski (Chopping Mall, Not of This Earth, The Bare Wench Project). Lust Connection is the first of the bunch to be scheduled for release - on May 31, 2005.

The deal came about when ei Cinema president Michael Raso, Wynorski, and Blueberry discovered they shared the same TV representative for their films, namely All Channel Films, who suggested to the noted West Coast filmmakers that Seduction Cinema would be the perfect home for their newly produced erotic features noted above. Wynorski and Blueberry agreed, and a figurative handshake and contract quickly followed between the three parties culminating in a Raso/Wynorski get-together for a literal deal-sealing handshake at the 2004 October Chiller Theatre Con, in East Rutherford, N.J. Needless to say, the "B" impresarios look forward to their newly struck business partnership.

The premiere Lust Connection DVD will include as a Bonus Extra the feature film Night Vamps - an early erotic horror film starring the glorious Glori-Ann. Audio commentary with Gilbert and director Blueberry will also be included on the double feature disc.

02-07-2005 - JOE SARNO "GIRL MEETS GIRL" TRILOGY BOXED SET

Fans of Retro-Seduction Cinema and, particularly, Joseph Sarno will finally have the opportunity to experience the legendary erotica director's German trilogy on DVD in a deluxe, limited-edition, 4-disc boxed set. The three films include Vampire Ecstasy (a.k.a Veil of Blood), Girl Meets Girl (a.k.a. Bibi) and Butterflies, which were shot in Germany in 1973 and 1974, and star the young, sensual Swedish beauty, Marie Forsa.

The most provocative, erotic, and beautifully produced films in the Joe Sarno canon, the German Trilogy represents Sarno at his boldest and most unfettered, as each of the films pushes the envelope in its portrayal of human sexuality and psychosexual behavior while delivering exciting stories that pack a literal wallop. And having the luscious Marie Forsa up-front and center stage in all three films doesn't hurt one bit: Her performances are nothing short of intoxicating, whether as a nymphomaniacal young woman seducing all of her aunt's young male and female friends in Girl Meets Girl; a helpless lass succumbing to supernatural seduction in Vampire Ecstasy; or a naïve farm girl setting out to make her way - any way she can! (often, with co-star Harry Reems/Deep Throat)- in the big city in Butterflies.

The Joseph Sarno "German Trilogy" boxed set will be available at retail on May 31, 2005. Each film will be accompanied on its disc by newly produced interviews with and commentary by key players (Sarno, his wife, Peggy Steffans Sarno, producer Chris D. Nebe). In addition to a full color booklet featuring extensive liner notes by NYU sexploitation film historian Michael Bowen, a bonus 4th disc - a CD - will also be included in the beautiful 10-panel packaging, which will offer the soundtrack music from all three German films.

Fans of Sarno have been patiently awaiting the availability of these films on DVD since their initial VHS release in 1998. Retro-Seduction is thrilled and honored to finally put them to market in a truly special package - Retro-Seduction Cinema's first boxed set - that does Joseph Sarno and his German Trilogy proud.

02-05-2005 - A VALENTINE'S MESSAGE TO MISTY MUNDAE

Just in time for Valentine's Day, Sgt. S. Knight (pictured second from right), of A Company, 319th Signal Battalion, and three fellow soldiers stationed in the Middle East, recently sent a large and heartfelt message to their favorite actress, doe-eyed beauty Misty Mundae.

Posing with a giant-sized "card" in front of an Apache helicopter, the soldiers made it abundantly clear that Misty, who has starred in more than 20 films produced by Seduction Cinema and Shock-O-Rama Cinema Studios, has the charm, the talent and the looks to both get their attention and put them at ease after the stress and strain of being in harm's way all day long.

"Misty keeps you interested," says Sgt. Knight, who began watching independent movies as a teenager. "Her movies aren't like other ones you see, where you can tell what's going to happen next or anticipate the plot. With Misty, you don't know what's going to happen next. It's hard to read her next thought or expression. It's always a surprise."

Not surprising is Misty's growing popularity among the troops. Cards, letters and e-mails requesting photos and posters of the actress arrive at ei Cinema's offices in Butler, N.J., almost daily, with many of the soldiers writing to say how much of a morale boost her movies and her screen presence are.

And Misty isn't the only ei Cinema starlet who's popular with U.S. military personnel. Rachael Robbins, who starred in the company's 2004 release of "Screaming Dead," and Julian Wells, the star of many films produced under the company's Shock-O-Rama Cinema and Seduction Cinema labels, were enthusiastically received at a mammoth welcome home celebration staged last year at Fort Hood in Texas for troops returning from Iraq.

02-01-2005 -
SEXPLOITATION FILMMAKER NICK PHILIPS VISITS POPcinema

Las Vegas-based sexploitation auteur Nick Philips (Roxanna, Lustful Addiction, Pleasures of a Woman) and his wife Irmi visited the ei Cinema Studios in Butler, New Jersey, on January 18 and 19, to record audio commentaries and interviews for three of his films being prepped for release on the Retro-Shock-O-Rama and Retro-Seduction Cinema labels - namely Criminally Insane (a.k.a. Crazy Fat Ethel) and Satan's Black Wedding (his only forays into the horror genre) and Chantal. Noted grind house cinema historian and writer/reviewer 42nd Street Pete (the host of mini-documentaries on past Retro-Seduction Cinema DVDs) accompanied the commentaries and brought his keen insights and fond remembrances to bear on the audio proceedings.

In the late 1960s and early 70s, Nick Philips produced and directed dozens of trippy, ultra-erotic, 60-minute films that often pushed the boundaries of what was permissible concerning sexual content in the realm of grind house cinema. Unlike his contemporaries, Philips eschewed recording on-set dialogue and instead chose to add voice-over narration in post-production...and wild, inspired and flamboyant narration it was! His idiosyncratic style was similar to that of Doris Wishman where cinematic craft was often beholden to getting the film in the can as cheaply and quickly as possible for budgetary considerations…although Philips, like Wishman, had trademark artistic flourishes that enriched each film and that no budget, or lack of budget, could deny. His films often obsessed on lesbian fetish and were more likely to portray the kinky side of sexuality.

Largely if not totally ignored on home video until recently and overshadowed by the more prolific and widely distributed and regarded output from higher profile filmmakers such as Joseph Sarno, Radley Metzger, Roberta Findlay and Wishman, Philips and his one-of-a-kind films have none-the-less stood the test of time, and his work is finally experiencing the renaissance and garnering the critical and fan attention it so richly deserves. Much of the thanks must go to the dedicated work of Retro-Seduction Cinema, who have lovingly restored (and continue to do so) many of Philips' cult classic films and premiered them for the first time ever on home video, partnered with specially produced, re-envisioned remakes. (Philips' Chantal will be partnered on DVD with the Tony Marsiglia remake starring Misty Mundae, Julian Wells, Darian Caine, and Julie and Lizzy Strain.) Other Philips films in the Retro-Seduction Cinema library being prepped for release are Wendy's Naughty Night, Siv: A Swedish Girl, Fancy Lady, Les Chic, Scyla, Gunilla, Fire In Her Bed, L'Amore de Femme, Uta, Oddo, and How I Got My Mink.

Philips was kind enough to bring along with him a videotape which included a recent interview he shot in San Francisco with Criminally Insane's cult star Priscilla Alden, a trained theater actor who currently works as an extra on operas. The tape also contained footage of the house used in Criminally Insane. Said material will find its way on to the late summer 2005 release of the horror double feature DVD. It should be noted that Nick and Irmi Philips are still making movies these days: recent projects include Howard Hughes and Dracula in Vegas.

ei Cinema was thrilled and honored to welcome Nick and Irmi to its studios and wishes to thank them and Priscilla Alden for their warm support and involvement.

01-30-2005 - DORIS WISHMAN CLASSICS RESTORATION

Retro-Seduction Cinema is thrilled to announce the recent acquisition of two nudie-cutie cult classic films by 1960 and 70s sexploitation cinema pioneer Doris Wishman.

Wishman surely ranks as one of the most prolific female moviemakers in film history having directed over two-dozen staples of the grind house cinema circuit between 1960 and 2002, the year of her passing. Films such as Bad Girls Go to Hell, Double Agent 73 (starring the ultra-buxom Chesty Morgan), A Taste of Her Flesh, Satan Was a Lady (remade by Wishman in 2001), and A Night to Dismember distinguish Wishman from her cinematic contemporaries by the lurid audacity of the subject matter and her idiosyncratic visual style, which charmingly betrayed the low budget, undermanned (-womanned!) reality of the productions. Wishman was also known for being brazenly independent: she wrote and produced (under various, often amusing, pseudonyms) most of her films herself. Today, a growing legion of fans lovingly embrace the true cult elements that imbue each film, whether it is nudist camps, transsexuals, penis transplants, or exploding breasts.

Hideout in the Sun, Wishman's first feature, was produced in Miami, Florida, in 1959. Shot in color and released in 1960, Hideout chronicles the plight of two bank robbers, deadly older brother "Duke" and tag-along "Steve," who kidnap a young woman then make their way to a chic nudist colony to 'hideout in the sun' until the heat blows over. The Prince and the Nature Girl was shot in 1965 and marked Wishman's 8th feature, which followed her earlier, better-known films Blaze Starr Goes Nudist and Nude on the Moon.

Both films have been the recent recipient of telecine color correction, noise reduction (digital removal of specks, dirt, spots, scratches from the film surface), and stunning transfer to Hi-Definition 16x9 and, thus, have never looked better or more vibrant - likely since their initial grind house cinema screenings 40+ years ago! And look good they must, as each film will be undertaking its home video premiere with Retro-Seduction Cinema at the helm: neither film has ever been officially released on VHS and/or DVD. Hideout in the Sun is currently scheduled for late 2005 and The Prince and the Nature Girl in early 2006.

01-11-2005 - A SEDUCTIVE AND PRIMITIVE SCI-FI ROMP

Bikini Girls on Dinosaur Planet has just finished post-production, and fans eagerly awaiting this wild and woolly, one-of-a-kind Factory 2000/Seduction Cinema hybrid can look forward to an upcoming home video release by mid-2005.

Bikini Girls on Dinosaur Planet began production in the summer 2000 as a Factory 2000 film written and directed by Bill Hellfire and starring soon-to-be Seduction Cinema sensation Misty Mundae and co-starring the scrumptious Mia Copia (An Erotic Vampire in Paris), Ruby LaRocca (Lustful Addiction) and Lily Tiger (Gladiator Eroticus).  In 2002, after the project sat idle for a spell, Seduction Cinema producer Michael Raso decided to acquire the footage from Factory; shoot additional scenes with Ruby and Zoe Moonshine (Satan’s School for Lust) added to the erotic mix (they now play space-traveling aliens); and, finally, in 2004, add top-notch, stop-motion animation miniature dinosaur FX courtesy of filmmaker Brett Piper.  The result is an ultra-sexy and outrageous Seduction Cinema release – one saved from oblivion! – unlike any seen before and one that will undoubtedly please long-time SC fans due to the interesting story behind its creation.

Stay tuned for upcoming Seduction Cinema News on the scheduled release of… Bikini Girls on Dinosaur Planet!

01-10-2005 - SHOCK-A-GO-GO FILM FESTIVAL

The Shock-A-Go-Go Film Festival took place December 3-4, in Hollywood, CA, at the historic Vine Theater on Hollywood Blvd.  This was the fourth year of the increasingly popular horror fest, and festival organizer and programmer, Eric Eichelberger, of Anxiety Films, did a wonderful job running the 36-hour long marathon event that saw hardcore attendees eating in shifts, carrying sleeping bags and pillows, and generally trying to catch all the screenings and ancillary events the fest had to offer.  From the get-go, Shock-A-Go-Go has been dedicated to classic, cult, and notorious ‘B’ and exploitation cinema and its creators. This year saw appearances by legendary producer/director Roger Corman, renowned grind house producer David F. Friedman, and veteran cult actress Mary Woronov – she of Andy Warhol Factory fame, and star of such ‘B’ classics as Death Race 2000, Eating Raoul, and Rock and Roll High School.

Texas filmmaker Barak Epstein’s women-in-prison spoof/homage Prison-A-Go-Go – soon to be released on ei’s Shock-O-Rama Cinema label – screened at Shock-A-Go-Go to a very receptive and appreciative audience, who enjoyed the film’s outrageous mix of classic and clichéd exploitation elements.  Post-screening, Barak and Prison-A-Go-Go co-star Mary Woronov discussed the film, and Woronov regaled the audience with anecdotes about her Factory days, working with Roger Corman, and her one-day stint on Rob Zombie's upcoming The Devil's Rejects (the sequel to his House of a 1,000 Corpses).

Films screened this year included Prison-A-Go-Go (the lone new feature film), The Defilers, Street Trash, Man from Deep River, Burial Ground, She Freak, Swedish Wildcats, Detroit 9000, Not of This Earth, Masque of the Red Death, Death Race 2000, Rock and Roll High School, and Bride of the Monster, as well as several short films.

A 3-person ei/Shock-O-Rama Cinema crew attended this year’s Shock-A-Go-Go, and it spent the fest’s 36 hour duration running and gunning for celebrity interviews (Corman, Woronov, and David Freidman, who had some very kind words for ei’s Lord of the G-Strings and other erotic spoofs), various post-screening Q&A sessions, and fan and festival-goer comments.  Look for the final edited mini-documentary to be included as an Extra on the Prison-A-Go-Go DVD release later this year.

Thanks to Eric Eichelberger and staff for another exciting and unforgettable festival.

01-10-2005 - THE PROS AND KHAN OF THE JANUARY CHILLER

The first ever January Chiller Theatre Toy, Model and Film Expo – appropriately and affectionately dubbed the “Dead of Winter” show – took place January 7–9 at the Meadowlands Sheraton, in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and Shock-O-Rama and Seduction Cinema set up shop in their usual location with releases both old and new for sale including Blazing Stewardesses, Swedish Wildcats, G-String Vampire, and The Girl Who Shagged Me.

Popular Seduction Cinema and Shock-O-Rama actress A.J. Khan (Lord of the G-Strings, Screaming Dead) made her Chiller premiere on Saturday, and she was eagerly embraced by fans who were treated to and impressed by her exotic beauty, humor and charm.  A.J. spent the day promoting the release of the “Super Sexy Unrated Edition” of Seduction Cinema’s newest spoof, The Girl Who Shagged Me, in which she has a co-starring role opposite Misty Mundae and Anoushka.  A.J. autographed copies of The Girl Who Shagged Me DVD in addition to Chiller Con special, color 8x10 “lobby cards” featuring a photo of A.J. from her recent co-starring turn in the just wrapped Shock-O-Rama Cinema/Brett Piper horror flick, Shock-O-Rama!  Look for A.J. to be back at the Shock-O-Rama and Seduction Cinema booth at this year’s April Chiller show: if the reaction to her first Chiller appearance was any indication, fans are going to enjoy getting to know her even more the second time around.

01-10-2005 - SHOCK-O-RAMA HUNGERS FOR FEEDING THE MASSES

The January 2005 Chiller Theatre Con (see this month’s new) proved to be quite a momentous one for Shock-O-Rama Cinema and Rhode Island-based filmmaker Richard Griffin.  Both parties used Chiller as an opportunity and appropriate backdrop to put their John Hancocks to paper in a deal that signed ownership of Griffin’s 2004-produced zombie film, Feeding the Masses, over to Shock-O-Rama Cinema.  Still cameras clicked as Griffin and ei Cinema president Michael Raso mimicked signing the buy-out agreements then shook hands in front of the Shock-O-Rama logo banner.  Staged or not, it was a fun promotional photo-op.

Griffin’s film, written by ‘B’ movie actor/writer Trent Haaga (Suburban Nightmare), is a social and cultural commentary on mass media manipulation, sound-byte consumerism, governmental subterfuge, and reality TV-generation vacuity that just happens to play itself out as a gruesome walking dead flick.  Shot on location in and around Pawtucket, RI, Feeding the Masses owes a debt of thanks to Romero’s classic Dawn of the Dead, as both films contain some very pointed, perceptive and acerbic social criticism.  Needless to say, the story and all aspects of the production suitably impressed Shock-O-Rama – so much so that it decided to query Griffin and producer Ted Marr on the film’s availability for purchase.  The rest is history because it turns out that Griffin was so sure that ei and Shock-O-Rama Cinema would be the right label to properly and passionately market and release his film (and, ultimately, provide it with the best long-term home) that a deal went down rather quickly, smoothly, and with zero anxious incident.

Feeding the Masses will begin to see prep work for a planned home video release, likely in September or October 2005.  Shock-O-Rama is thrilled to have acquired this horrific and intelligent horror film and to have made Richard Griffin and Ted Marr’s acquaintance at this January’s Chiller Con.  It eagerly looks forward to the next horror film arriving soon from the Griffin camp, tentatively titled – rather retro-ly – Blood Orgy of the Ravers.

01-07-2005 – SHOCK-O-RAMA TO RELEASE PRISON-A-GO-GO A GO!

Shock-O-Rama Cinema is proud to announce the acquisition of Prison-A-Go-Go – a hilarious and offbeat women-in-prison exploitation spoof directed by Texas filmmaker Barak Epstein.  The film stars cult movie icons Mary Woronov (Eating Raoul, Rock’n’Roll High School) and Rhonda Shear (host of USA’s “Up All Night”) and features plenty of the outrageous shenanigans for which the subgenre is infamous.  Director Epstein calls his Prison-A-Go-Go an inspired smorgasbord of classic ‘B’ movie clichés woven around the story of a young woman who must infiltrate an all women’s prison in the Phillipines in order to save her kidnapped sister – a human guinea pig undergoing crude genetic experiments. Mutant zombies, girls running amok, ninjas and mad scientists collide head-on to create a one-of-a-kind exploitation flick that has been receiving some well-earned publicity and acclaim.

Prison-A-Go-Go recently screened at the 4th Annual Shock-A-Go-Go Film Fest held December 3 and 4, in and around the old Vine Theater, on Hollywood Boulevard, in Hollywood, CA, and garnered awards for Best B Movie, Best Director, and Best Set Design.  A Shock-O-Rama Cinema film crew was on hand throughout the 36 hour marathon fest to capture the film’s screening and post-screening Q&A with director Epstein and Mary Woronov; gather comments from fans, notable ‘B’ legends including Roger Corman and David Friedman, and festival organizer Eric Eichelberger of Anxiety Films; and interview Barak Epstein.  The footage will be turned into a mini-doc that will be included as a DVD extra on Prison-A-Go-Go’s 2005 home video release.

01-07-2005 - AL ADAMSON CULT CLASSIC TO BE RELEASED ON DVD

The Sam Sherman/Al Adamson cult classic Blazing Stewardesses (1975) will be experiencing its first ever DVD release in a special edition 30th Anniversary 2-disc set featuring Blazing AND its sexy prequel, Naughty Stewardesses.  The attractively packaged double-disc set features original poster artwork, audio commentary by producer Sam Sherman and journalist/genre historian Ed Hulse, a brand new interview with frequent I.I.P. star Marilyn Joi, original theatrical trailers and TV spots for both films, and a collectible 6-page booklet offering extensive liner notes on the creation of Blazing Stewardesses, written by Ed Hulse.  Each 2-disc set is a numbered and limited edition of 20,000.

Blazing Stewardesses finds those “naughty stewardesses” at it again!  But this time Debbie, Barbara and Lori (Connie Hoffman, T.A. King, Regina Carrol) have turned in their Mile High Club sky miles for a sexy, rousing, Old West-styled adventure on the Lucky Dollar dude ranch.  But punchin’ cattle and breakin’ stallions are the last things on their mind as these lovely ladies earn their wings in a whole new way…blazing a trail straight to the bedroom!  Amidst the hilarious antics of the Ritz Brothers and action-packed thrills & spills of the mysterious Hooded Riders led by Western movie icon Don “Red” Barry, the girls are approached by beautiful Madam Honey (Yvonne De Carlo/The Munsters) to join her swingin’ Bee Hive ranch.  It’s a sweet deal our saucy stewardesses may not be able to pass up.

A personal favorite among the many films Sam Sherman produced at Independent International Pictures Corp. and one of his most profitable at the box-office (after all, it was released hot-on-the-spurred-heels of Mel Brooks’ Blazing Saddles), Blazing Stewardesses is good, clean, naughty fun and high-tailed adventure that personifies the best that 70s exploitation, drive-in cinema had to offer.

01-07-2005 - WHOLE LOTTA SHAGGIN’ GOIN’ ON

Seduction Cinema’s first feature film produced in the UK, the eagerly awaited spy thriller/spoof The Girl Who Shagged Me (originally titled Goddess of Lust), comes to home video on March 29, 2005, and you can count on stiff upper-lipped British propriety to be tossed into the dustbin like so much yesterday’s rubbish.   The hilarious, Benny Hill flavored flick was directed and co-written by the Manchester-based filmmaker Tom J. Moose of Viscera Motion Pictures, and stars SC favorites Misty Mundae, Anoushka (Sexy American Idle, Play-mate of the Apes), and A.J. Khan (Lord of the G-Strings) in their funniest, most inspired roles to date.

The story:

In prehistoric times there existed a supernatural, sexually-charged cavewoman whose attraction to females was so hot that it halted the Ice Age.  She was the first lesbian - the legendary “Goddess of Lust” (Anoushka) - and her erotic appetite can once again bring the world to its knees.

When the Goddess’ frozen body is stolen from modern-day adventurer and archaeologist Captain Waldo Lavish, it is up to super-sexy Super-Secret Agent Johnson (Misty Mundae) to track her down before it’s too late.  Sinister Dr. Unsound and his delectable henchwoman (Rachel Travers) are responsible for the theft, and they thaw the Goddess to a luscious perfection.  Freed from her icy tomb and ready for steamy action, the Goddess

unleashes her powers leaving a trail of sensual exhilaration in her wake. But Agent Johnson’s keen mind and able body is more than up to the task, and she will go farther than she’s ever gone before in service to her country…and her own insatiable desires.

The Girl Who Shagged Me will be available at retail in a MPAA R Director’s Edition and a Super-Sexy Unrated version that features ultra-hot and uninhibited performances from Madams Mundae, Anoushka and Khan.  And keep an eye out for Misty in a uproarious dual role as a certain “taste”ful serial killer.  There’s even a camel and a mad Arab!

DVD Extras spread between the Director’s Edition and the Unrated version of The Girl Who Shagged Me include “Misty Goes to London” mini-documentary, behind-the-scenes documentary (UK version and US version), bloopers and outtakes, deleted scenes, interviews, “When Camels Go Apeshit” mini-documentary, commentary by director Tom Moose and writer Andy Sawyer, and a Free Poster offer.

01-07-2005 - SARNO’S SWEDISH WILDCATS CLAWS ITS WAY ONTO DVD

Joseph Sarno’s wildly entertaining and provocative 1972 classic, Swedish Wildcats, will be seeing its first ever DVD release on Retro-Seduction Cinema, on March 29, 2005.  Produced by Vernon Becker (The Seduction of Inga) and starring popular cult cinema actresses Diana Dors and Christina Lindberg (Thriller: A Cruel Picture a.k.a. They Call Her One Eye), Swedish Wildcats is one of the most popular and acclaimed films in the staggering Sarno filmography.  The film is the beneficiary of a sparkling, state-of-the-art, hi-definition transfer from an original 35mm print and is enhanced for 16x9 televisions.

Swedish Wildcats finds Aunt Marghareta (Diana Dors) running an exotic brothel in Copenhagen that caters to customers of prurient tastes.  Each night, “Marghareta’s Maison” puts on a titillating show highlighting her menagerie of exquisite female beauties who are then offered up to the highest bidders for a night of unparalleled pleasures.  Marghareta’s sexy young nieces – sisters Susanna and Karin – are the most desired of her performers. Made up in body paint as a pair of Swedish tigresses, every man or woman pays handsomely to spend an unforgettable evening with them.  But Susanna and Karin begin tiring of the perverse clientele and their passionless sexual encounters.  They long to experience true love and wonder if girls like them can ever find it.  Keeping her real identity and profession a secret, Susanna meets Peter - a young Swedish test pilot who quickly falls for her.  Will they find happiness together, or will Peter discover the shocking truth about Susanna…and the Swedish Wildcats?

Of special note, Swedish Wildcats has been partnered with the 2003 remake, New York Wildcats, specially produced by Seduction Cinema for this Double Feature release.  New York Wildcats stars Chelsea Mundae as night-club owner “Aunt Marghareta” and sister Misty Mundae (“Pleasure the Peacock”), Ruby LaRocca (“Ruby the Rattlesnake”) and Katie Jordon (“Miss Kitty the Pussycat”) as delicious, body-painted exotic dancers who are auctioned off each night to the highest bidder – male or female.

DVD Extras on Swedish Wildcats include a 2004 interview with Joseph Sarno and Peggy Steffans Sarno, a behind-the-scenes look at the making of New York Wildcats, trailers for upcoming Sarno films, and a collectible booklet featuring extensive liner notes on Swedish Wildcats by sexploitation historian and academician Michael Bowen.
