Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors to feature ei Cinema's Screaming Dead

BUTLER, N.J. - Screaming Dead, the first horror movie produced by ei Cinema and released under its Shock-O-Rama Cinema label, will be one of the films featured at Fangoria Magazine's Weekend of Horrors, Jan. 9-11, at The Meadowlands Sheraton in East Rutherford, N.J. Brett Piper, who wrote and directed Screaming Dead, and two stars of the movie, Misty Mundae and Rachael Robbins, will be present to answer questions after the film's screening. A second Shock-O-Rama and Brett Piper film, the stop-animation, killer-mutant-bug-on-the-loose-movie tentatively titled "Bite Me" - currently in production - will be previewed at the Weekend of Horrors. "Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors is one of the premier horror, fantasy and sci-fi conventions in the world every year," said Michael Raso, president of ei Cinema. "We're really pleased that the folks at Fangoria think highly enough of what we're doing to present our stars and our films at their important show."

ei Cinema carved out a niche in the market by producing movies - under its Seduction Cinema label - that combine erotica and humor, gaining recognition and a devoted legion of fans with such sexy movie spoofs as Lord of the G-Strings, Gladiator Eroticvs, Dr. Jekyll and Mistress Hyde and their latest, SpiderBabe. With Screaming Dead and Bite Me, the company has begun producing its own brand of sexy and clever horror films. Both will be released in 2004, as will the company's contemporary version of Dracula, directed by Tony Marsiglia and starring Misty Mundae and Julian Wells.

RED-HOT CHILLER

Friday, Oct. 31 - Halloween Night - through Sunday, November 2, the Chiller Theatre Toy, Model and Film Expo held sway at the Meadowlands Sheraton Hotel, in East Rutherford, New Jersey.  This year Chiller was celebrating its 13th anniversary, and, without a doubt, it was one helluva show, with an unending torrent of fans immersing themselves for three days in the diverse assemblage of cult stars (Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, 2001’s Gary Lockwood and Keir Dullea, Linda Blair, Traci Lords), personalities and merchandise from the world of sci-fi, horror and fantasy.

Seduction Cinema exhibited at Chiller, too, as it has been for some eight years now, with its star actress, Misty Mundae, on hand to meet and greet fans, sign 8x10s, DVD wraps, posters and the like, and pose for lots of photos.  Throughout all of Saturday, it was a literal log-jam at the SC booth, as fans clamored for SC’s newest release, SPIDERBABE, and took advantage of the opportunity to schmooze with “Patricia Porker” herself.  Of course, Misty was as beautiful and engaging as ever, and if the excitement surrounding her appearance at Chiller is any indication, it’s become readily apparent that her fan-ship is continuing to grow and thrive at an alarming rate!

Seduction Cinema “contract actress” Darian Caine and her “Dark Side of Darian CaineEnterprise also made a much anticipated appearing at Chiller, selling, signing and posing, too, for her vast legion of fans. Sexy, sensual and a ton of fun to be around, Darian is always a fan favorite wherever she’s goes, and SC was thrilled to have her as a neighbor at the show.

Look for the next Chiller Theatre convention in April 2004!  In the meantime, Chiller has teamed up with Fangoria to promote and present the next Fango “Weekend of Horrors,” to take place January 9 – 11, 2004, at the very same Meadowland’s Hilton.

Thanks to Kevin Clement and his staff for a great show, and best wishes for the next 13 years!

ei CINEMA'S "SCREAMING DEAD" ATTRACTS SRO CROWD IN MANHATTAN

NEW YORK, N.Y. A standing-room-only audience filled Manhattan's Pioneer Theater recently for the theatrical screening debut of Screaming Dead, an R-rated horror film that is the latest full-length feature from prolific New Jersey movie studio, POPcinema.

Following the screening, a gala, surprise birthday party for one of the film's stars, ei Cinema sensation Misty Mundae, was held in the nearby "Den of Cin," a NYC gathering place that caters to fans of cinema. Misty, who has gained worldwide fame in such films as Lord of the G-Strings, a suggestive-spoof of Lord of the Rings, and Spider Babe, a comic-sexy takeoff on Spiderman, was toasted at the party by the film's other stars, Rachael Robbins, Heidi Kristoffer and C.J. DeMarsico.

As a special surprise and treat, Misty's sister, Chelsea Mundae, also an ei Cinema starlet, brought a huge batch of her now-famous cupcakes. Among those lucky enough to get more than one was Joseph Sarno, the director whose thoughtful, yet provocative films revolutionized the "adult" movie genre in the 1960s and 70s. Sarno, 82, a Navy combat pilot in World War II, has been lured out of retirement by ei Cinema president Michael Raso to direct the company's next erotica feature.

The industry leader in the erotica and sexy movie-spoof genres, ei Cinema has produced more than 30 films in the past five years and has distributed dozens of others under its Seduction Cinema, Video Outlaw and Shock-O-Rama Cinema labels. Screaming Dead, which was written and directed by horror veteran Brett Piper, is the first of five horror features under its Shock-O-Rama Cinema label to be produced in 2003-2004.

The movie will be released to home video in early 2004 and will be available through retail and e-tail outlets, including Best Buy, FYE, Movie Gallery, Sam Goody and Hollywood Video and Blockbuster Video.
